Leonid returns from working abroad to his native Bukovinian village for the winter holidays. His wife persuades him not to leave again, and his son Nazar doesn’t want to let him go either. The boy chooses a risky way to stop his father—by trying to burn his documents. The teenager’s recklessness sparks a fire. Leonid promises to cover all damages, but the cost is high. To earn the money, he recalls his past, when locals knew him not as respectable family man Leonid, but as Pamfir—a master of smuggling and illegal border crossings.
